I believe that an individual's problems or issues are psychological in nature and of no specific kind or degree, but rather depend on the specialty of the therapist. The key idea behind therapy is that each individual person is unique and distinctive, which means that a one size fits all approach to therapy will not be effective, whether the therapy is intended to help someone recover physically from a car accident, or emotionally from a traumatic event. As a therapist I utilize techniques and develop a treatment plan designed specifically for each client's unique needs, addressing peculiarities of the client's personality and situation rather than providing generic treatment which may be less effective . If a particular situation requires CBT or another requires solution-focused therapy, however, as an Existential Eclectic-Integrative therapist I am prepared to also apply that intervention.

I Hold a Master of Arts degree in Counseling, from Prairie View A&M University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Juvenile Justice. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and a National Certified Counselor. My formal education has prepared me to counsel individuals, groups, couples, families, adults, adolescents, and children. I have training and experience in helping individuals/offenders in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities and therapeutic communities. I also have over 10 years of training and experience in the chemical dependency and mental health area .
My theoretical orientation is founded on Existential-Eclectic/Integrative therapy Existential therapy is a powerful approach to therapy which takes seriously the human condition. It is an optimistic approach in that it embraces human potential, while remaining a realistic approach through its recognition of human limitation. As a therapist my focus is to help individual's live full and enriching lives given their personal beliefs and values. In many cases, the existential therapist helps clients uncover their own beliefs and values, separating these convictions from what has been imposed on them by society, culture, and other "outside forces."Falling in the tradition of the depth psychotherapies, existential therapy has much in common with psychodynamic, humanistic, experiential, and relational approaches to psychotherapy. Eclectic therapy selects what appears to be best in various doctrines, methods, or styles composed of elements drawn from various sources in attempts to choose the best theoretical approach based on the client's needs and situation. Integrative therapy suggests that the elements are part of one combined approach to theory and practice designed to draw from the most suitable approaches for a client, with the therapist integrating aspects of various approaches which he or she thinks will be beneficial to address a client's psychological issues. It is my goal and intention to increase the individual's sense of his/her own well-being and to render services in an ethical manner in accord with the standards and practices of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
